    Quantum Wronskian approach to six-point gluon scattering amplitudes at strong coupling

    We study the six-point gluon scattering amplitudes in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling based on the twisted Z_4-symmetric integrable model. The lattice regularization allows us to derive the associated thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations as well as the functional relations among the Q-/T-/Y-functions. The quantum Wronskian relation for the Q-/T-functions plays an important role in determining a series of the expansion coefficients of the T-/Y-functions around the UV limit, including the dependence on the twist parameter. Studying the CFT limit of the TBA equations, we derive the leading analytic expansion of the remainder function for the general kinematics around the limit where the dual Wilson loops become regular-polygonal. We also compare the rescaled remainder functions at strong coupling with those at two, three and four loops, and find that they are close to each other along the trajectories parameterized by the scale parameter of the integrable model.Comment: 30 pages, 8 figures; (v2) a reference adde

    G-Matrix Equation in the Resonating-Group Method

    The G-matrix equation is most straightforwardly formulated in the resonating-group method if the quark-exchange kernel is directly used as the driving term for the infinite sum of all the ladder diagrams. The inherent energy-dependence involved in the exchange term of the normalization kernel plays the essential role to define the off-shell T-matrix uniquely when the complete Pauli-forbidden state exists. We analyze this using a simple solvable model with no quark-quark interaction, and calculating the most general T-matrix in the formulation developed by Noyes and Kowalski. This formulation gives a certain condition for the existence of the solution in the Lippmann-Schwinger resonating-group method. A new procedure to deal with the corrections for the reduced masses and the internal-energy terms in the Lambda N - Sigma N coupled-channel resonating-group equation is proposed.Comment: 21 pages 0 figures, submitted to Prog.     Long-Term Follow-up Posthematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in a Japanese Patient with Type-VII Mucopolysaccharidosis

    The effectiveness of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for type-VII mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS VII, Sly syndrome) remains controversial, although recent studies have shown that it has a clinical impact. In 1998, Yamada et al. reported the first patient with MPS VII, who underwent HSCT at 12 years of age. Here, we report the results of a 22-year follow-up of that patient post-HSCT, who harbored the p.Ala619Val mutation associated with an attenuated phenotype. The purpose of this study was to evaluate changes in physical symptoms, the activity of daily living (ADL), and the intellectual status in the 34-year-old female MPS VII patient post-HSCT, and to prove the long-term effects of HSCT in MPS VII. Twenty-two years after HSCT, the β-glucuronidase activity in leukocytes remained at normal levels, and urinary glycosaminoglycan excretion was reduced and kept within normal levels. At present, she is capable of sustaining simple conversation, and her intellectual level is equivalent to that of a 6-year-old. She can walk alone and climb upstairs by holding onto a handrail, although she feels mild pain in the hip joint. The cervical vertebrae are fused with the occipital bone, causing dizziness and light-headedness when the neck is bent back. Overall, her clinical condition has been stabilized and kept well for long-term post-HSCT, indicating that HSCT is a therapeutic option for MPS VII

    Quark-Exchange Mechanism of γdnp\gamma d \to np Reaction At 2-6 GeV

    Within the constituent quark model, we examine the extent to which the deuteron photo-disintegration at 2-6 GeV can be described by the quark-exchange mechanism. With the parameters constrained by the npnp scattering, the calculated differential cross sections disagree with the data in both magnitude and energy-dependence. The results can be improved if we use a smaller size parameter for quark wavefunctions.
